June 2018 – Construction Ends

PROJECT OVERALL DESCRIPTION

The 2017 Street Improvement Project involves reconstruction of some of the remaining streets in the Downtown area including Broadway from 4th Street to 6th Street, 5th Street from Broadway to end, 3rd Street from Broadway to end, Hickory Street from 3rd Street to Main Street West, Ash Street from 4th Street to Main Street West, Jorgenson Street from Alley to Main Street West and alleys adjacent to these streets.  The reconstruction involves placing new curb and gutter, walk, drain tile, and asphalt.   Also, streetscape improvements including bump outs, decorative walk, trees, clock and street lighting are proposed for areas along Broadway.  The council decided at their meeting on March 6, 2017 to:

  1. Proceed with plans and specifications
  2. Follow Concept B on 3rd Street West by the bridge
  3. Pave existing gravel alleys with asphalt
  4. Proceed with diagonal parking on Broadway from 4th to 5th Street.
