Carver has a network of trails that are running, walking, and biking accessible. A recently completed gravel trail links Carver and Chaska along the old Union Pacific Railroad.
Carver County along with Scott County, City of Carver, City of Chaska and and the Metropolitan Council recently purchased the former railroad property from Union Pacific Railroad which ran from United Sugar in Chaska to the Union Junction in Scott County (between Shakopee and Jordan).
Plans for this corridor include the installation of a sanitary sewer line by the Metropolitan Council between Carver and Chaska. Work is scheduled to begin on this project in the fall of 2011 and continue through 2012.
Future plans for this corridor include a aggregate or paved trail from athletic park in Chaska to Carver connecting the two city trail systems and extending the MN River Bluffs Regional Trail.
