Historic Downtown Carver has always served as the heart of our community since it was founded in 1852. Over generations, residents have worked to build and preserve a community heritage that has been formed along the banks of the Minnesota River. In an effort to promote continued investment and to protect the sense of community in Historic Downtown Carver, a group of residents has worked together to form design concepts for a Downtown Master Plan.
The Downtown Master Plan attempts to identify under‐utilized buildings, missing pedestrian and vehicular connections, and a public gathering space at the end of Broadway. In addition, the plan seeks to enhance gateways into Historic Downtown Carver. For example, a concept has been prepared for a reconfigured intersection at Mount Hope Road and Old Carver Road.
