Council Member Kristy Mock

Term Expires January 2021

Kristy Mock has been a resident of Carver for over 7 years but has spent more than 15 years involved in the community.   She currently works as the U of M Extension, Carver and Scott County Master Gardener Coordinator.  Kristy worked as the former Parks & Recreation Supervisor for the City of Carver beginning in 2007, is Vice President in the Carver Lions Club, and volunteers on the Steamboat Days Committee.   Previously, she worked for the City of Victoria and the City of Chanhassen in Community Development and Parks & Recreation.  Her local government experience spans nearly 20 years.  This includes acting as liaison with the Parks Commission, Carver on the MN, Heritage Preservation Commission, and the Walkable Communities Task Force.  Politics has been a part of her life starting at the age of 6, when watching the Carter vs. Reagan debates with her father took precedence over cartoons.

Kristy enjoys anything outdoors, including gardening, landscaping, and hiking (especially with her newfound love of the Smoky Mountains).  She also enjoys collecting vinyl records, watching “MasterChef”, and has been deeply involved in the restoration of the historic Anton Knoblauch house in downtown Carver.  The Anton Knoblauch house is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and the renovations began immediately after it was purchased in December of 2017.  The house was completely gutted from the three apartments and was rebuilt back to its glory as a single-family home.  The process has truly been a labor of love, with interesting artifacts and fascinating historical finds.

Kristy takes pride in serving her community and appreciates the people in it.  As a public servant and community volunteer she strives to do her best for city and its residents.
