Song Property

The City of Carver has received a sketch plat or concept plan for the Song property by Summergate.  The sketch plat is the first application a developer can make and is very conceptual in nature.  Everything included in the application is both subject to change and anticipated to change.  The sketch plat shows 306 residential units as a mix of single family and townhomes.  Click HERE for a larger version of the sketch plat.

There are several processes required for the project.  The property will need to be annexed into the City, an Environmental Assessment Worksheet will be required to study the impacts of the project and it will follow the typical planning process which includes three reviews by both the Planning Commission and City Council.

The Planning Commission will begin their review of the sketch plat at their meeting on May 16.  Planning Commission meetings are held at 109 Main Street East at 6:30 p.m.  The meeting is open to the public and will be a good opportunity to learn more about the process.  Planning Commission meetings are live streamed and archived on the City’s website if you are unable to attend or prefer to watch from home.  There is not a public hearing as part of the sketch plat review but questions may be sent to City Planner Erin Smith at
