Joy McKnight has been happy to call the City of Carver home for the past 20 years. The small-town community and affordability attracted Joy and her husband, Bill, to Carver. They enjoy the beautiful Minnesota River and surrounding natural areas, as well as the proximity to their work locations. Their son, Liam, attends East Union School, and they have three cats, including two new kittens they recently adopted.
In addition to serving on the Planning Commission for 18 years, Joy has served on numerous task forces regarding downtown, city buildings, and the new City Hall.
Joy is a business unit manager at ITW Electronic Assembly Equipment, a division of Illinois Tool Works. She leads a global team at ITW EAE with the opportunity to travel and work with people around the globe. Joy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Japan Studies and Economics from Macalaster College and an Master of Science in Telecommunications from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
In her free time, Joy loves baking, traveling with her family, and hiking along the Minnesota River. She has been a member of a book club for over ten years with a dedicated group of women who are now life-long friends.
