The City Council continued their discussion on Monday, of an idea developed by the Parks Commission, to create additional opportunities for residents, neighbors, and friends to meet and gather in Historic Downtown Carver. The working concept is for the creation of a new "Downtown Park" where an existing Public Services storage building is located at the corner of Main and Broadway. The park concept features a small performance area, space for outdoor yoga and other program offerings, outdoor patio seating, food truck bays, permanent yard games like corn hole and ping pong, as well as a small splash pad. Although the concept does not does not have an estimated construction year or cost at this point...it does highlight the City Council's strategic initiative to create more community spaces in the Historic Downtown. The City Council will be discussing "Downtown Park" concept as a part of their upcoming 5 Year Capital Plan process.
