Delinquent Bills: The City Council certified assessments totaling $6,499.95, to property owners with delinquent utility bills in the City. Assessments are certified to the Carver County Auditor for payment with the 2022 property taxes at a rate of 5% interest.
Municipal State Aid Street Program: The City Council adopted a resolution entering the City into the Municipal State Aid (MSA) Street Program. This funding is generated by the State’s Highway Users Tax Distribution Fund (Gas tax, Tab fees, etc.) and is allocated to MSA cities based on population and system miles. The City recently became eligible for this funding, anticipated to be in the range of $250,000 to $300,000 annually, as a result of surpassing a population of 5,000 residents. MSA funding will be used in part to fund street projects on 4th St. W. in 2023 and on Mount Hope Road in 2026.
